White Roses

This is what happens on a Saturday night when I my kids are asleep and I have extra cupcakes in the house.

Strawberry Moscato Cheesecake

For my hubby's birthday, you don't see special cookies made just for him because he's not a "sugar cookie kinda guy." I personally think he's crazy.  ;)  One of his favorite desserts is cheesecake. I have made plenty of no-bake cheesecakes in my day that have rocked.  Cheesecakes from scratch however, have always scared me.  I had to buy a special sping pan just to make it!  I decided I was going to face my fear with a little help and inspiration from The Pioneer Woman.  When I read her recipe for Blackberry Cheesecake, I knew I wanted to do something like it.

PW's cheesecake called for Nilla Waffers but I used graham crackers for the crust with the pecans. Next time, I won't make such a thick crust.

I did follow her recipe for the filling and it was perfect.

For the topping, I put some strawberries, sugar and moscato wine (I LOVE muscato!) in a pot on the stove.  I let it boil for a few minutes and then poured it on top of the cake.  I think it was the best part!  I might even sneak some wine into the filling for the next one.  YUM!

Happy Birthday honey!

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman

I have always wanted to make Spiderman cookies.  I was most excited about the web on his face. These were for my friend, Melissa's son.  He is the same age as my oldest who was totally stoked that I was making these.

Cupcakes to match.  I have to say that I learned that red food coloring changes the way buttercream icing tastes; not good.  I ate one of these after the party.  Wish I would have before the party.

Only one spider made it through.  Those guys were way too fragile!

  Happy Birthday Hayden!

Here's to You America!

As usual, I was inspired by i am baker.  Once I saw her 4th of July cake, I had to make one too. Mine is a red velvet cake with cream cheese/butter cream icing.  My oldest son and hubby could not wait for me to finish it so they could dig in!

  Happy Birthday USA!

Whippin' it Good

So I've been a little busy whippin' it good.  ;)

Sorry to have neglected the blog.  Here are some of the sweet treats I've had the opportunity to make recently.

These precious party hats were made for the amazing Jill at PaperBox Press.  Check out the adorable party she put together for her little one.

Lovely sweets for a bridal shower.

These koalas went to an Aussie themed baby shower in Cali.

Basketballs for my Thunder-lovin' nephew's birthday party.

I completely loved these circus tents although I did not have a cutter for these and had to hand cut each one.  They matched the birthday party invites for two super-sweet girls.

These went to New York to celebrate a 90th birthday.

These airplanes were also custom cut and iced to match this invite.

I'll be back with more soon including some sneak peeks of my son's cookies for his "little man" party.
