Mummy-to-be

These are not your average Halloween cookies nor are they your average baby shower cookies.  When I had to combine the two, this is what I came up with.

You can easily add a bow made of ribbon to your cookie because the royal icing acts as a glue and dries nicely.  It is easy enough for the cookie-eater to take it off.

Ever seen a pregnant mummy?! hehe!

Just add a pacifier to any cookie to make it a baby girl cookie. ;)  I was going to add one to the mummies but thought that would be pacifier overkill.

Baby girl Frankensteins were a must.

I threw some pink and purple pumpkins in there too!

Pop Quiz:  Which cutter do you think I used for the Frankensteins?  Try to be as specific as possible.  First person to comment on this post with the right answer wins the cutter!  :)

{The Cookie Puzzle guessed it!  I used the Wilton ice cream cone cutter for the Frankestein.  I just turned it upside down}  Thanks for playing!!

Wedding Cookie Cakes

 Have you ever seen these???

I didn't make them.  They came from the lovely folks at Martha Stewart.  I was super excited when my client/sweet friend asked me to make some for a bridal shower.  Mine looked more like these amazing cookies by Julia M. Usher.  If I could plan my wedding agin, I would have these on the menu for sure.

I took a bazillion pictures of these because I loved them so much.  My hand-piped roses were imperfectly perfect.

Speaking of Martha Stewart, you may remember I was in a little contest for the American Made Audience Choice Award.  I did not win but I had a darn good time trying.  YOUR support kept me in the top 10 throughout the entire contest.  I think I finished 7th overall in terms of votes out of 100 national finalists.  The exposure was awesome and is still going on as I was just featured in the Houston Chronicle!

Thank you all again for your continuous support of this little biz.  I am so very excited about where this will take me.

Blast Off!

Blast off is an appropriate title for this post not only because I got to make space shuttle cookies but also because my business is blasting off.  Thanks to YOUR support, I am busier than EVER!!  I guess the fact that I really need at least a month's notice for a cookie order is a good problem to have.  :)  Really, I do.

I was not asked to make these cookies by NASA but rather by a super caring Mom that was taking her accompanying her kids to NASA for a field trip.  How awesome is she?!

I didn't have a space shuttle cutter so a purse cutter was used instead.  Sometimes, you have to think outside the cutter!  hehe!

I am fortunate enough to live near this amazing place and get to take my kiddos to explore.

Another way my little biz is blasting off is with cookie classes.  Yes, I want to teach you how to decorate cookies!  The first class will be on October 27th from 2-4pm and I have 4 spots left. We will be making some Halloween/Fall cookies. I hope to do this on a monthly basis and will have room for 5 people each time.  If you are interested, email me at erinheflin@hotmail.com for more details.

1st Bee-Day

I had the opportunity to make cookies for my dear friends Amanda and George of Pretzels Pleaze.  I am so proud of all they have accomplished with their business.  They too understand what it is like to work full-time and have a growing small business on the side.

Their sweet son turned one and they went all out for his Bee-Day party.  I LOVE this theme!!!

Once again, I took the advice of Callye of The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle for the houndstooth cookies.  Her tutorial made them easy to do.

Check out all of the great photos from this ADORABLE party table here.
